Now that EFAS on 122.0 has been retired, what is the frequency formally used for?

Standard FSS frequencies.

So initial contact with FSS remains on 122.2 ?

^^^ Yes, 122.2 and also please check your VFR Sectional / TAC chart or IFR Terminal Procedures, Chart Supplement for specific FSS frequencies.
