B767 why set Flap lever 1 on QRH drill?
Can anyone explain why during Alternate Flap Extension on the 767 the following point is stated as part of the QRH drill?
If flap lever is UP:
Flap lever . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1
This prevents uncommanded autothrottle
disengagement.
Cannot understand why the lever at Posn 1 stops uncommanded A/T disengagement.

Autothrottle disconnect occurs if a fault in the active autothrottle mode is detected, or when a reverse thrust lever is raised to reverse idle. The A/T DISC

It has something to do with how the FSEU and the TMC talk to each other and update. Uncommanded autothrottle disconnection isn’t likely in that case but moving the flap lever to 1 removes the small chance of it happening.
