Default C172 RG overvoltage

Anyone know how big the overvoltage protection is? I thought it was 35 or 33 but thats in the P model so i need to find the RG. ANy one know?

I've got the POH at home, but I am not sure what you are after; overvoltage for a breaker to trip? Which one? Or maybe for the voltage regulator? What prompted the inquiry might help also.

He's looking for the high voltage at which the VR will shut itself down (it will then give you a low-voltage light because it's making no voltage).

It's not in the POH, you probably need to ask a mechanic because their Mx manuals will have the value for testing/adjusting purposes.

It is almost certainly in the 33-35 volt range however, that would be typical for a 28V system.

Sorry if I was not very clear but it was the VR. I wondered because I was asked this on my instrument ride and couldnt remember for sure what it was since I have a CSEL coming up in the very near future. Thanks for all the help VERY much appreciated!
