Default Northwest 747-451

I'm not sure if this is the right section but I will ask....

Can someone tell me what the powerplant is on Northwest's 747-451's? I'm wondering if they are GE, RR, or PW.

Thanks!

Northwest also preferred Pratts on the DC-10. Most airlines used the GE CF-6's while NWA had JT-9 powered aircraft.

Yes Donald Nyrop the former CEO of NWA for 1954-1976. That was his preference. The story I heard was that the pratt powered DC-10's were originally designated DC-10 series 20..But after lobbying by Nyrop the designation was changed to a DC-10-40. I guess he did not want to play second fiddle to the GE powered DC-10-30. But in the end the pratt powered 40's were a mainenance nightmare so first they pulled them off the international runs and made them domestic and by this time NW had acquired GE powered 30's and put them on the international runs and soon they scrapped the 40's and kept the 30's as parts such as cowlings were almost impossible to get for the pratt powered DC-10's.
