Default Embraer widebody?

It seems that the RJ's continuing to get bigger and are starting to cut into more and more mainline flying. How big do you think these airplanes are going to be. Is it possible that Embraer or Bombardier might ever design aircraft that would compete with larger Boeing or Airbus metal? (757, 767, A330, etc...) The E-Jets are pretty big for being a "regional jet", do you think it is ever possible that we might see a wide body RJ? Or do you think that Embraer and Bombardier will never be able to shed the stigma of being RJ manufacturers and wont be taken seriously by any mainline carrier? Just wondering what anyone else's thoughts on this might be.
