Cockpit tighter than a Learjet 2_?
#1
I went on a Lear trip immediately after checking out on the Falcon 20 and was immediately refreshed as to how inhumane the comfort level in a Learjet 25 is for a 6' 2" guy. I love the airplane, but it is really, really—really tight. I was glaring down into the cockpit of Falcon 10 yesterday and found myself wondering:
Is that Falcon 10 a tougher experience for a tall guy than the Lear? It looked kind of tight.
More importantly: How many jet/turboprop cockpits out there are tighter and LESS comfortable for a tall guy than an old Lear?
Thanks in advance. I'm pretty curious about this one.

Probably not what you were really looking for, but anytime someone mentions small cockpits I have recent flashbacks and I'm not claustrophobic!

I will respectfully disagree. The Metro is like riding in the back of a rolls (slight exaggeration) compared to the Lear, and all my LJ time is in a 55...
Not saying the Metro is THAT big, but lears are uncomfortable. Not to mention you could spread out in the Metro and use the right seat as an ottoman.

I was sitting in the right seat so, no, you can't have it. All I remember (besides 248 was some limit, we didn't have spade doors, and the rocket was useless) was I had to sit with my head tilted in.

Thanks for all of the good answers.
As for me, I've started folding enroute charts in half "hamburger style" and using them as knee-pads. It's the only way to keep things like the center pedestal from bruising my knees and things over the course of the day.
In a Lear 25 I spend all day with one of my knees in a de facto vice grip formed, on one side—by the yoke, and on the other by the emergency brake near the pedestal. Great airplane, crummy living situation. Playing through pain.
