Trans States Interview

Today, I just received an offer to interview. What's going on with this company? I thought they still had furloughs ?

TOBY240 11-26-2012 09:23 AM

Dont go. Not worth the hedache.

Somebody once told me you're not a real airline pilot until you get divorced, file bankruptcy, and get furloughed all atleast once. Transstates will gladly help you become a real airline pilot.

We haven't had furloughs in a while. Been hiring like mad to cover the massive understaffing.

As for the company, it's a regional. Better than friggin' gojets, probably not as nice as some of the nicer ones. You won't find a better pilot group to fly with, but you could probably find a better prospect for growth. (There won't be any. probably ever.)

I gave them a two day notice when I left.

No growth to speak of. Hiring for attrition. Once the leases and contact with united are up in 2013 this place will be a year to year contact renewal with united if they want us. With possible reduction in uax flying (depending on who you talk to) with the new united ta, there will be some dumping of 50 seaters somewhere. Not sure if our 17ish will make the cut. That being said, the contract isn't bad. About average or slightly better. And the pilot group is great

What about the Mitsibishi Jets? Are you guys still getting those.

Baxter 11-27-2012 05:54 PM

Frank was right.

If the TAs at AA and UA pass, the MRJ90 Hulas has on order is scoped out; the MRJ70 is allowed though. The order book might have to be adjusted to use the planes in the US.

I hope the pilots at TSA come out ok in the next few years with hiring beginning to spool up at much greener pastures. The most important thing to get out of TSA is yourself.

Amen brother. Trans States helped me with 2 out of 3, would've been a 100% if I wasn't already broke as a joke :o
