Thanks. I appreciate the acknowledgment. I try to be, as you say, fair minded.

The ones you worry about. You just don't know when they are going to the garage and get the axe.

You know me. You know that I just don't throw rocks at ALPA like some of the respondents. I started this thread (and the one on UAL) to try to get some answers to the RUMORS that were out there. What I didn't count on was a bunch of snowflake respondents that acted like I was questioning their very manhood and shooting their dog in the process. Both sides of this issue have acted like a bunch of 12 year old girls. It took way over 10 pages to get ANYONE that actually answered the question about the retirement. Everyone else acted like there was something nefarious or sour grapes or some other bull**** going on. I guess living in the dark about any of this is much better than even simply asking the question... at least according to the responses it received.

I'm sorry, but I have to raise the BS flag on this claim to innocence. "I was just asking a question, and everyone else is acting like a little girl!" Yeahrite. You do realize your posts are still here, with time stamps, for anybody to read, right?

Like your first one, on the United Forum:

The first response was (paraphrasing) "Uh, what's the Joe DePete thing? " No, wait, that was not a paraphrase, that is a direct quote.

Rather than give a direct answer, you chose to stir the pot.

In your, "I'm innocent, y'all are acting like little girls" post, you claim you were just trying, "... to get some answers to the RUMORS that were out there." Funny, that's not the question you asked. Instead, you asked, ... let me see if I can find that reference ... oh, yeah, it's right there above ... you asked, no you wondered "... where the UAL guys are coming down on this whole Joe DePete thing," but you played too cool to actually articulate what "this whole Joe DePete thing" even was.

An honest person, not intending to stir up trouble or smear with innuendo, would have started by stating, "I heard that Joe DePete, our new ALPA President, retired from FedEx. What do you UAL guys think about that?"

You didn't get an answer in 2 minutes, so you brought the topic here to the DELTA Forum.

Were you still looking for the answer to what the UAL guys thought about it? Not likely.

So, back the UNITED thread, when nobody seemed to know what you were alluding to with your vague posts, you slammed them for not knowing.

Wait. If you're interested in what a UAL rep is saying about it, why don't you ask a UAL rep instead of asking vague questions on an anonymous internet forum. It seems I saw someone giving advice about getting information from anonymous website vice a reliable source not that long ago. Oh, wait, it was YOU! In your VERY NEXT POST!

The thing is that I have discovered that this is remaining very quiet at this point in time.

Anyway, back to the DELTA Forum, after a handful of puzzled responses, you finally spit out your first direct question:

So, let's just pause here and review your claim that you were just trying, "... to get some answers to the RUMORS that were out there."

What rumors, and what questions did you ask? None. The only question you asked is what do some people (UAL reps) think, and would you (reader of Delta forum) be happy? Those questions won't elicit answers to rumors, but your admonition to "really look into" the "other issues" certainly helped smear and taint if not propagate new rumors.

So, back to the UNITED Forum. You still haven't spit out a direct question, and the posters are still wondering what you're talking about, so you played the "You are ignorant" card:

Got it.

Hopefully somebody will take 2 minutes out of his busy web browsing afternoon and research it.

I'm surprised they didn't flock to you with endearing responses, heaping laud and praise upon your wisdom and insights. Actually, the response was just the opposite, so you attributed your coyness to non-anonymity.

Maybe it became more anonymous before your next, quite detailed post:

Legal? Yeah probably. But the optics aren't good.

I have no agenda against the man because he came from somewhere other than Delta. I couldn't tell you where ANY of the national officers are from. I do not care. And I just heard about this today. If you are good with this kind of thing, then please scroll on. I think it is pretty low if true though.

And the reason that I wanted people to call their reps was not to be all 'cloak and dagger', but to find other confirmation than internet rumors. Sorry to have brought it up. I guess it's all good.

Yeah, sure you're sorry to have brought it up. Typical rumormonger.

The most generous (and politically correct) way to describe your claim of innocence here is disingenuous. Guess what. We're not that stupid.

What Tony said.

An appropriate and leveled thread would have been: "Hey guys. Did you hear the ALPA President retired 1 day into his term from FDX? What do you think about that?"

Instead, you thought you were throwing a match into a room full of Hydrogen. And when it didn't light, because most people don't care that he retired, you got angry and lashed out. You tried filling the room with hydrogen and when the angry mob still didn't explode, you turned on everyone and insulted them for not thinking like you. Classy.

Funny. That's exactly what HuggyU2 said back in Post #39:

Yeah.

Sure.

And we're super-super-stupid, too, if we believe that.

No one has explained why it is bad that the President of ALPA is retired.

You'd be wrong, again. It is evaluated at least every two years at the BOD and experts are engaged to study it between BODs and Executive Council meetings. Your reps disagree and you in all likelihood aren't qualified to be the ALPA President.

Dude, seriously why are you so butthurt about this? It's an anonymous webboard and people are expressing opinions. And MY reps... one of them at least... is unhappy with the compensation model.

You bet the method of retirement hasn't been looked at -- he refuted your bet with a pesky little thing called a FACT. Look who's butthurt.

So, how did your Rep vote on the BOD Resolution establishing DePete's compensation, including retirement?

[HINT: Don't ask on an anonymous webboard. Ask your rep.]

Ian Fleming has been around for awhile. This dude is the king of flamebait and then posing innocence or at least righteous indignation. Reference the entire TA1 and TA2 discussions. He will not answe your questions, he will attack. Pretty standard in today’s world I guess
