Default Write ALPA!

Not happy with the recent turn of events? Notice that in press releases, ALPA has been busy patting themselves on the back? Perhaps you're worried that you may be furloughed when the industry takes yet another down turn? Do you want to vent your frustration in some place other than this forum?

Write ALPA, express your feelings, bad, good, or otherwise. Obviously a minority was able to bend ALPA's ear and get them to reverse themselves. It is true that this deed is already done and you can't Un-ring the bell, but if the majority speaks out and lets ALPA know of their displeasure, perhaps we will have a voice with our union again. Then again, maybe we won't, but it doesn't hurt to try.

This forum is a terrific for exchanging ideas and gathering information, but it doesn't negotiate our contracts, take some time to write to the organization that does. As a group, the events of the past several years and ALPA's reaction, or lack thereof, have beaten many of us down. We have forgotten we have a voice, let's use it.

I'm in too. What a sham that whole place called ALPA has become. We should also ask for a return of whatever money they spent on the Age 65 Survey they did, since they obviously did not follow it or us. First I get run over by my company, then I get run over by my union. No one tole me to look both ways when I got into this airline business....

You know...based upon what I hear about ALPA; "hear" being the operative word; relative to airline management, ALPA seems to be the LOYAL opposition.

I couldn't agree more. Hopefully, the USAir pilots have started a decertify ALPA revolution.

I was told that United also took a vote to oust ALPA but, didn't quite have enough votes. There are enough people a NWA that are disgusted with ALPA that it would not take a lot to get them to vote ALPA out as well.

Maybe there could be a revolution brewing.

I believe that we would be better if ALL pilots were represented by one functional union. Whipsawing between opposing unions would likely drive down wages & contracts even further.

That said - I don't think that ALPA in its current state is capable of providing the type of leadership that we all expect and pay for.
