(Along with detailed instructions about how to properly submit ourselves to an insane process of humiliation they could not prevent).
You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.

I mean, it's not like we haven't gotten other emails like that over the past 6 years or so... oh wait.

ALPA in action! I mean... inaction. They don't negotiate through the media because they have absolutely no clue how to even put out a timely press release and roll over at every turn.

I'm putting out the high/low on how absolutely appalled we are going to be when the FTDT rules come out... then we will here "we had to take their side because they would have steamrolled us in other areas."
Who do you think developed and implemented the entire crew pass concept?

Sorry Sailing, but until it is on the line (not testing) it hasn't been "implemented."

And you don't think any other pilot groups have been involved?

The real question is why it took USAPA and APA standing up and telling their pilots to opt for the manual screening...and related delays for almost 16,000 pilots...that something finally happened?

Or do you really believe that it was a "lame duck" ALPA President who made it happen? And if you do...why did it take so long??

Yes, good for ALPA in getting this concept developed. But don't you think the timing is at least a little interesting? This thing can't get off the starting blocks for years. Suddenly, there's a big uproar from the public and all those pesky little "other" pilot unions. ALPA is taking the quiet, "high road" as usual and working behind the scenes. And, voila, it looks like we're going to get CrewPass! While I'm sure ALPA will take ALL the credit for this happening at this particular moment in time, I don't think that's particularly realistic. Absolutely, give ALPA a big PART of the credit for developing CrewPass and some "behind the scenes" stuff. But I seriously doubt this would actually happen without the public pressure that has been brought to bear by those other "worthless" pilot unions.

Seems like public attention does help to get results. Will ALPA learn from this? I doubt it.
