I wore mine (under my collar) during my time in Iraq in 2003. Then, when I got home and needed some support for an issue, the rep was not available due to him building a fence! The downhill slide continued and I grew to despise the union and its tactics and corruption. When they voted to push the age 65 thing, that was it for me. When I left the airlines, I sent that same pin to John Prater and told the POS he could shove it straight up his arse.

when I joined my regional, they gave me two alpa pins. Where exactly am I supposed to put them?
I hear one is either on the tie or lanyard. If on the tie, where specifically, upper middle of it? or does it go on the lanyard.
And where do people put the second pin? on their flight bag?

A really useful technique, when attempting to discern the proper method of displaying one's in at the airline, is to ask somebody at the airline. This is a an ingenious life "hack," because you see these people every day.
