Doesn't make much sense really... almost all the EWR and SFO 320/737 FO bids in the last vacancy went unfilled.

perhaps those Unfilled from the last bid are spoken for with the announced classes and they need more vacancies for additional classes?

190 slots went unfilled in EWR and SFO. Not sure how many have been trained since the last vacancy...

PA
the un-filled vacancy cancel after 90 days of bid effective date. As long we keep hiring they will have to create new vacancy for new hires. Also planned new hires through June was 300 (the number was 500, then down to 200, and most recent I believe is 300....but I could be wrong). So many of the un filled vacancy from the last bid should be filled by this bid effective date.

Do you need a vacancy bid to place new hires? I thought they were placed where needed. Maybe I dont understand the process then. I guess I never watched the timing of classes and vacancy bids.

You need unfilled vacancies to have new hires. 8-C-8

So yes you need a vacancy to place new hires, senior pilots get first crack at positions. What you're postulating would allow the company to place new hire "where needed." Say maybe DEN, or IAH 777 FO. Out of seniority order.

What do you expect when you defer 71 700s indefinitely and sign up for more RJs? MORE RJs. Yee Haw.

Are we adding RJ's or reshuffling them? I thought it was a reshuffle from one express carrier to another.
