Just send them to me I will add them to my memorabilia collection old or new I will take them.

I would love to send them to you. But I don't think I could fit them in priority mail boxes without cutting their arms and legs off first. Boy, I learned my lesson about that one a while back.

Oh wait, you meant the wings.

My bad, please disregard.

I know you know this but other less informed don't and it is annoying, so no reason to even crack the door on this old divisive tactic. I was once denied a jump seat by a 320 CA because I had a blue background.....guess he missed the half wing on my tie

I'm L-UA and received a blue background years ago. Maybe the white background is the identifier of those that are on more than 10% of their BES PBS avoid list? ;-)

But....the new wings say so much to the traveling public and about me. "I just had a box of Cracker Jacks, and I've got a sugar high," right before you get into my plane and I fly you to where ever, then my sugar high crashes right before landing.

I thought I was done wearing cheap plastic jewelry when I stopped wearing those fake pewter AF wings...

I wear the UAL provided jacket, over coat and wings. Yes, I look like a homeless person. I look exactly like UAL wants me to look.

BTW, I'd be really surprised if they ban the flight jackets, and that actually keeps people from wearing them.

I also don't understand why it rankles some guys so much. Both legacy wings look better than the stuff issued post merger, and much better than heavily festooned cowboy boots or black reeboks.

Give me a break. Get with the program. It's been spelled out in the FOM for years now and nowhere does it mention "it's cool to wear your legacy bling because it shouldn't rankle many people."

You're barking up the wrong tree there Scrappy. I wear my uniform as issued by Mother U. Therefore, I'm fairly confident that I have gotten with the program. I did not infer what you assert.

What I don't understand is guys who blow a gasket over the outliers who choose to shine the light upon themselves by sporting legacy gear. My larger problem lies with the guys who won't touch the APU till eleven mins prior to push, even though their pax stink like last weeks fish. Keep the cabin cool for our customers (prior to push on a hot day) and I don't care what you're wearing or where you got hired.

I haven't noticed legacy wings in a while. I do still notice slick ties and cowboy boots in IAH and unbuttoned blazer, no hat and a backpack draped over the shoulder of guys in SFO and IAD. Having said that I have noticed most guys seem to be wearing the uniform correctly (blazer buttoned/hat) this year. I do think it is tacky to be mismatched (one guy wearing the leather while the other wears the blazer) but it is approved.

What's wrong with boots??? Did I miss something in the FOM??

Wait... We can wear the uniform of our previous employer!?!

That's so cool. My last job had AWESOME wings. They got really really boss ones with all the money they didn't pay us.

And if I can use their uniform standards here that would be excellent. As soon as I hit the plane its shorts & concert t-shirt time! You can't bring one pilot shirt for a month and never wash it if you actually wear it for more than an hour a day.

I'm hoping that by setting them straight you meant that you told them off for even approaching you and inquiring as to your status? Still hearing Continental this and Continental that at the ridiculous FPA's in SFO while they review tropospheres and 6 month old maintenance write-up history's.

More than once I've suggested to said offenders that they visit moveon.org and get over it.
