Default West Virginia living

Hello, I was thinking about a D.C. base and possibly living in West Virginia. I'd like to be within a couple hours of the airport.

Any suggestions?

Virginia, west of the airport is beautiful too, but a little expensive.

Need some advice from some in the know. Thanks.

I know a lot that live in the Martinsburg area and love it.

What's your requirement for a home? Want to live in suburbia? Live on 3+ acres? Kids in school?

Thanks for responding... I was looking for a 3-4br/3-4 bath on around 5 acres. On first year pay, that may be a stretch. That was one of the reasons for West Va as opposed to VA. Maybe a little cheaper if not farther away.

Trying to get a feel for the area... best places to live in a quiet settting where 4 boys can run around like wild injuns

Housing gets incrementally cheaper as you drive west of Leesburg, VA. Lots of really cool towns and great schools with homes built on larger lots (3+ getting very popular) in Loudoun County VA. I can't speak for schools along the eastern part of WV but you might want to check into that before buying... NoVA schools in Loudoun County are top rated. We currently live in Ashburn on a little over 1 acre and considering moving more west as I'd like to have more land and have less homes packed around us... decision gets easier as my youngest is finishing up HS next year. I'd recommend zillow search in homes west of Hamilton, VA and east of Berryville, VA to start...

That's just wrong

Being from Tennessee, however, I can relate.
