I hear what you're saying. On the flip side, in my military days, we moved 6 times in 11 years. We enjoyed enjoyed living at every location. Their were things we liked and disliked about every locale. I understand there are circumstances that preclude moving (spouse working, etc.), but there are great places to live within driving distance of all of our hubs. To each their own. I lived on the west coast for most of my life, but I'm enjoying life on the East Coast equally. To each their own.. the torment of having to sit on a guppy jumpseat for hours each week is a big incentive to drive to work, at least for me.

I'd ride a guppy jumpseat everyday to not live anywhere north of IAD.
