We are trying to add to both. I agree with the investors on the call. It was your regional flying where we received the bad press and your expanding it? I'm afraid Oscar and everyone will be gone in management by next summer.

I would think any new management at United would adopt the "shrink to profitability" stance as well as increasing RJ feed while attempting to decrease labor costs. Not good.

1. We don’t have more 170s coming because we are scoped out.
2. Kirby didn’t “Axe” the 737 order he pushed it off 3 years and added 40 more planes to it for a total of 100.
3. Yes Kirby increased the 50 seaters by a very small number in FY2017. There are still 145s, 135s, and Dash 8s heading to the desert every month. I’ll wait tell I see a FY2018 fleet plane before I jump on the “we increased regional flying wagon.”
4. Firing our management team will only serve to create more instability. Every new team needs a new business plan.

See the problem with fear mongering is it lacks facts. Of course you agree with the investors because you have a myopic view of the business plan. Think past tomorrow.

Well said, MOP. I'm amazed that some are convinced the sky is falling when, with the perspective of 20+ years at this rodeo, the future looks brighter than most of my time here.

They spoke exactly about all this and Oscar said we will get beat up the next 18 months or so by Wall Street, the analysts, and Investors but he had prepared the board and institutional investors for it.

Outstanding post 30west, waaaay more insightful than all the Wall Street analyst conference call histrionics. A week ago, it seemed likely that we were going to announce the purchase of a bunch more used Airbii at the earnings release. I think the purchase of used Airbii is still going to happen due to the sudden ramp up of Indoc classes at TK. But now I understand why nothing was announced, because OM and SK knew we were going to get pummeled at the earnings call for lack of capacity discipline. Announcing a sizable aircraft purchase at the same time would only add to fuel to the fire. Analysts are indeed not on our side. Better to release that news later when things have settled down.

As for the OP regarding a possible purchase of new 767s. Well, at the right price I could see us picking some up. There aren't that many cheap used 767s or 757s out there, so maybe a purchase of some new 767s as a bridge is more cost effective. However, no way we would buy 50-100 as mentioned in the article. A couple dozen for us maybe? I think any big 767 ramp up is likely to come from the Amazon Borg or somesuch.

They spoke about that also, they never said when they would announce it. They also spoke about the hiring numbers both those items were good things and once again I'm not going to publically post those details.

On point 3 you are completely wrong. Between ZW and C5 about 120 small RJs are coming back by the end of 2019.

Coming back? C5’s 145’s are coming from EV. They’re not additional planes, just transferring operators. Not to mention all the Dash 8’s are leaving- that alone should be celebrated.

C5 fleet is a direct transfer from XJT. No growth...just a shuffle to screw rj pilots.

Yep every single 145 that goes to Trans States and Commute Air are coming OFF the Xjet fleet. Zero growth.
