New 767s?

McNugent 10-19-2017 02:52 PM

At first it seems pretty far fetched, since we didn't take 737-700's because it's old technology. Then again with new wings and engines and if the price is right, who knows. Maybe they'll even "dump" then on us and pi$$ airbus off. Boeing is pretty thick with the hypocrisy these days.

I’ve been asking this question for years.

Serious question: could Boeing even design/build/certify a revised 767 with composite wings and new engines in the timeframe mentioned?

That article seemed plausible up until the penultimate paragraph. Besides, after that earnings call today, anything mgt. comes up with will be met with🙄

I've always wondered that. Just multiply all the measurements for the 787-9 by 75% and voila...there you go. I'm sure it's just that easy!

I most certainly believe so. The cockpit is already updated with the KC-46, and it's fairly nice. I'm guessing this is also to help with negotiating the 350 pricing, but also thinking the pricing might be attractive enough that buying new over used may be worth it.

It’s far more likely that it’s Amazon Prime Air.

Does FedEx ever buy new? Their 777s were, but aren't most of their others used?

I’m pretty sure all of their 767s are off the line new within the last couple of years.
