Soft man

I’ve a short time left here at UAL and it’s been a good run, but too many step into this job and forget how they get paid and history of their work rules. Both sides of this merger union have a lot of non-benevolent management under our bridges, so it’s important to remember and emphasize how we get our dues.

Just so you know, we could have negotiated zero 401k deposits/contributions and left it up to the individual to fund their future retirement. When it comes to paying us from the Company position, cash is just cash when it leaves their accounts and into ours.

We earned it and decided as a union where it would go.

Yes in the past there were those who would have rather been paid up front and left it to the individual to fund their retirement. Luckily smarter people knew that would have been foolish.

Sorry to those who are offended by this thread.

There was nothing odd about it. What's odd are the guys who think that we just get this contract because we're studs with cool jobs and because of managerial benevolence.

There are roughly 152,000 ATP rated pilots in the US.

There are 1,325,000 Attorneys.
There are over 1 million MD's.

Don't sell yourself short.

I have to agree that the W2 earnings thread is one if the most childish, disgusting things I’ve yet to see on APC. The very thought of publicly displaying my W2 turns my stomach.

The shear number that have is disturbing and the Richard measuring tone of that thread is over the top. I don’t care what industry you work in. Publicly sharing W2 information is not cool.

I have yet to see the thread, but if this is the pulse of the group, we can likely forget about and contractual gains other than wages. Nothing else seems to matter.

Thanks but out of respect for my parents I'll pass.

They want to start a thread bragging about other economic contractual gains brought about by excellent leadership and pilot unity then I'd love to read it. But W-2's? Gauche. No thanks.

The w-2 thread is like asking Hoss how big his ranch is, and how many head of cattle he runs.

Haha! My thought is if it gets the Spirit, F9, & Jetblue guys demanding similar pay (oh, and scope) for the similar work, it has its pluses.

Seems pretty good considering this includes all employees.

The combined 401k assetts of our pilot group at Schwab was north of 7 billion. For 13,000 pilots that is pretty impressive.
