Thanks [Regional Pilot]

National media has now picked up the Air Wisconsin pilot's PIREP and are running crazy with it. Of course, what's being reported is that it was a "United pilot". We really need to take back this flying, if for no other reason then to protect our brand.

This pirep:
IAD UUA/OV KIAD/TM 1238/FL040/TP CRJ2/TB MOD-SEV/RM Very bumpy on descent. Pretty much every one on the plane threw up. Pilots were on the verge of throwing up. Awc-web

I followed one of the links .. have to laugh at one of the "tweets"; it said,

"Just experienced the rockiest landing at Natl, passengers were vomiting. Winds were accelerating the plane too fast to touch down, but our amazing pilot Chris on jetblue nailed the landing after failed attempt,"

Not that amazing if it took him two tries, just saying :)

Maybe I'm not understanding your post, but it sounds like you are bagging on a fellow aviator for going around during what were apparently pretty hazardous weather conditions at the destination? Would it have been better to press on with a bad situation instead?

No, it was humor, lighten up Francis.

Another example why scope matters. Do you think those passengers know who Aie Wisconsin is? Most have no clue. They bought a ticket on United (or so they thought). Just like the Colgan crash. The only part if the aircraft you could recognize was the Continental logo in the fire.

Choosing between swa and United. Who does swa use for their regional feeder?

Skywest
SWA loves to hire Skywest guys because Skywest doesn’t have a union. They love mil guys too...ask yourself why.

So Skywest aircraft fly SWA pax? I don’t like that a bit. Deciding between UAL and SWA. Didn’t think they did that. SWA just took a big step back in my book...
