MAX 10 Pay
I’d imagine the 737 Max -10 will have to be assigned a pay rate. Without mentioning pay banding or starting that holy war, how will this new plane’s pay be addressed?
It’s hard to find past precedent for this kind of thing in the UPA. United hasn’t ordered a narrowbody of a different size or variant within this pay category recently. |
You want more money to fly the Max10? Isnt the satisfaction of knowing that you are in command of Boeing’s newest, most state of the art, aircraft enough extra compensation? Money can’t buy the grin on your face when you push those throttles forward and feel the hydraulic lift kit extend the mains.

reserves will probably go up $0.50/hr due to blended so there's that ;)

I was just told that it wouldn't matter if UAL was on a UPS-type pay scale, where the type aircraft didn't matter... only seat and longevity.
I like the idea of that, although I haven't thought it through. |

UPA 3-J defines the process for adding new equipment types.

Working international is like working for a different airline at United. Better in so many respects I'm not certain you would see a major shift in who flys what.

Versus: the oldest flight attendant being younger than your daughter

All the while I was searching for the wink.

Personally, I like pressing recall 17 times per checklist.
You have to press it that much to get all the lights to illuminate on both sides. And it also discourages the flying pilot from pressing it another 10 times while reading the checklist. Cover your eyes [emoji849] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Anybody have any buds at swa and amr who have actually flown it? The CBTs are not giving me a warm fuzzy

I've flown the MAX-8 a few times. The engines are smoother and quieter, and as mentioned above, take a ton of time to start when warm. They seem to idle higher too - release the brakes and you'll slowly start to move.
Otherwise it's still a 737. The big screens are pretty, but there's not really any extra capability. Just more map display. I feel like it's a little heavier in pitch during landing, and had a CA say he thought it felt a lot like a 767 (I wouldn't know), but it's close enough to an NG that I don't think about it much. It's nice not having an OFF position for the gear anymore, and they moved the handle far enough to break any tendency to blindly reach up and accidentally put the gear down during the climb. ;) |

It’s better if you like the youngest flight attendant be older than your mother.
The benefit of having the grannies is the ease of starting a conversation in the galley ... So, how many cats do you have? ... Finally you see life in their eyes. The true sign that a younger FA is about to fall off the cliff ... I just got my first kitten ... Necessary evil. |
