Career move
I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to find the thread today. Can anyone share their experience using company paid moves, specifically the career move? Did it work out as advertised? Any pitfalls? Anything end turn out better than expected? What kind of timeline was involved?
Thanks. |

Career Move question:
Can you move to Florida and commute to EWR for a career move, or does it have to be in base/domicile? |

It's spelled out in Section 10 of the CBA, as are the rest of the details. New location must be within 200 miles of new base. So, no.

It appears now that under the new tax law company paid moving expenses will be treated as taxable income. It was a tax free benefit previously.

Actually I think you are incorrect. The way I read it is that you must be within 200 miles of a place that your new base serves- not 200 miles from your new base. |
