Airbus headset

I use a 750 I've had for years coupled with earplugs. It's low tech, but it works. I like the plugs because they not only reduce the ambient white noise but they also mute the treble from the radios. Over time that scratchy treble right into your ear canal will also eat away at your hearing.

Looks like this thread is about a year old but wondering if anyone has tried ANR bose, david clarks, or sennheisers on UAL airbus dual plug setup? I recently tried plugging my Sennheiser hmec 26 (that I use on the 737) and my headset didn't recognize that it was plugged in... ie no mic power). I tried running through different switch options on my headset but on this quick check it didn't seem compatible. I wonder if UAL wired the mic plug with no mic voltage or if this was just a fluke? thx

Hmmm. I wonder if by chance I tried it on such aircraft. I think your telex has an Electret mic so it should operate similarly to my sennheiser. I'm curious as to how you like your headset and it's noise reduction capabilities? It sure has a nice minimalistic look to it. thanks!

Telex 850 works great. Been using them in the Airbus for nearly 6 years. As more younger guys get the upgrade I am seeing more and more CA’s with noise reduction headsets. Also our old airbuses aren’t as quiet as others . So a decent headset is def worth it .

Thanks for the info. Glad to hear it. I fall into that camp... and though I flew the airbus many years back without anr, I am at a point that I need to preserve the hearing I have left. I'm curious if anyone uses the bose headset or is that just overkill on the bus. I was told last week that we are close to some company deal that provides a bose discount and payment through company pay deduct.

I just started using the DC Pro X on the 'bus and it has worked well so far. I actually didn't do as much for the hearing/noise issue as comfort. The molded ear piece that I had been using for nearly 20 years just wasn't that comfortable anymore.
