Is that the current number for DAL? I’m hearing (no empirical info) that both DAL and AA are winding back at the moment.

True but that will allow the bottom part of our list to get where they want to be.

I don't know how DL is going to be able to displace all those MD pilots and keep hiring as much as they are. We parked 14 747's and fell apart, they have 160 MDs with 1500 pilots based in ATL.....Talk about reshuffling the deck.

I would likely think it won't in the bid that will come out soon, but for the guys/gals on the bottom that are looking to change bases, this could (we'll have to wait and see) mean an opportunity to do that earlier than we previously thought. This bid will be so they can give assignments legally to Furloughs/New Hires. I don't think they have any plans for any of us that are currently flying the line to be taken off the line to go to training until after the summer. With that as the backdrop, any other bids on this would likely end up driving delayed activation pay, so I doubt there will be any. I would think we would see the first significant bid sometime in mid to late July, for September and beyond training.

In the mean time, this is at least a step in the right direction.

Hopefully it will be followed by a bunch more!!!

They hired 39 this week. 27 the week before. 30 the week before that. And 40 the class before that. That may be their throttled back numbers. For a while they had 50 per class.

This probably relives a BUNCH of stress from the furloughs that were due back in the fall. Nothing like waiting until the last moment to come back. There are 34 who's time expire in SEP/OCT, they may end up in most of these slots.

Buddy of mine just finished His IoE at the big D. I did hear rumors of throttling back soon. However the numbers I read on an earlier post i don't believe are correct. His class alone was bigger than the ones you described . Southwest as well, . Man they have been hiring like ganbusters. I just hope our turn comes sometime before I retire .

And yes loosing 14 ,747 was huge I agree , and all the talk about smizek and how much he screwed this place , come on management , time to move on from that old ass quote.

You couldn’t be any less happy? Bummer. It does seem like that from a few of your posts.

Or is this like when guys say, “I could care less...” about something when they really mean that they COULDN’T care less?

Sorry for the digression: I hear the screams of a thousand English teachers in my head when I read stuff like that. Carry on.

Great news for those of us in the pool! I just hope they have room for me after all the returnees have picked up their slots. When I got my CJO I was told the middle of 2018 for training. Then I heard it was December, then possibly August. So I won't hold my breath but it's still moving in the right direction.
