Small favor

Hi everyone.

My brother and I collect airline knick-knacks from all over the world. For a while now we've been trying to get our hands on these :

http://www.denvermainliner.com/index.php/luggage/crew-luggage-tags/united-airlines-crew-gel-bag-tag-with-new-logo-blue.html

http://www.denvermainliner.com/index.php/luggage/crew-luggage-tags/united-airlines-crew-gel-bag-tag-with-new-logo.html

They're nearly impossible to find, and the above website will only sell them to United employees...

If any one of you could help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it!

They're pretty easy to get.

Private-Commercial-College-Multi-CFI-CFII-Severalthousandhours-Charter or Night Freight or Corporate etc-Commuter-Upgrade-Severalthousandmorehours-etc or LongStintInOneOfUncleSamsFlyingClubs-Apply-wait-wait-wait-wait.....

Sorry, but unless you are employed by the airline, I don't think you ought to have one. Hell, it chaps my a$$ when I see Express crews sporting the old round orange tags. Security concerns aside, that's a tag that many have paid dearly for, and its a pretty tight fraternity. They were VERY difficult for us to get. They out to be damn near impossible for you.

Try eBay.

What’s the story behind the orange tags with the tulip?

Those (the rubber tags from the first post) aren’t anything special. You can buy those at the stop over store, and you certainly don’t need to be an employee to do it.

Those tags allowed you to walk your bag down to the pit and ramp check it, then retrieve it from the ramp at your destination. They were only issued to flight crew. It was and still is a great idea which completely solved the issue of where a commuting or DH pilot was going to store his bag on a full flight and a late boarding.

Thus they were worth their weight in gold and only issued to verified UAL flight crew.

Agreed. The only people I ever see using those rubber tags are FA's. I don't think I've ever seen a pilot with one. I have no crew tags on any of my bags. There's no need for them anymore.

Ditto. It's almost comical how much crap some people have hanging off their bags.

Jesus.

Saftey concerns... We aren't talking about a KCM card, but a cosmetic piece of rubber serving no purpose.

Why is this seller (/you) making it so special, I do not know. But no need to be condescending.

To the others : thanks. I was at the CVG Crew Outfitters this morning and they didn't have them. Will try other locations.

I just walked over to the IAH stop-over store and they have a ton of them. Blue, clear, red, and pink. I would call them and see what they can do. Putting one of those on your bag will get you ZERO consideration from the ramp crew. It’s merely a decoration. The orange tag mentioned previously is different, and only UAL flight crews should have those.

only FAs use them... if you want your bag to look like it belongs to an FA then this is definitley the tag to have.
