Reserve at UAL

I only flew it once. And it was at the bitter end as the flying shifted from GUM to HNL. As a result, we had a LONG sit in GUM after a first class DH from NRT. While in the NRT FC lounge, we put a big dent in the automatic Asahi draft dispenser as well as their Buffalo Trace allotment.
Two and a half days of local-moco, sushi and beer later, we headed back to NRT. Three legs in 7 days. Sitting on the beach, snorkeling, wandering about...I had a great trip!

I was Jetblue for several years and came to Yonited , was reserve for nearly a year.
The problem with asking this question is you’ll get a dif answer from each person as we all experience it differently.
My year spent on reserve wasn’t near as bad as I was expecting it . I was home more often than I ever expected with long call as well as being released early . I feel I was lucky and talked to good schedulers who had a soul to allow me to go home dam near every time I asked. EWR 320 guy speaking. I have heard awful stories of guys from LAX/SFO getting treated much much differently as in worse.
I easily was home as much on reserve at United than a line holder at Jetblue . That being said I was also a high credit guy at Jetblue so I did work more days than average .
Florida commuter which is a booty commute . But I made it work . ESP cause of Jetblue lol .
I did read some of the bullet points you guys have on the AIP. Some are great , some we need here .
That being said . I agree times change, short calls here are being abused more than when I even first started. Also a 757 guy in EWR has a entirely dif story compared to a guy like me on the 320.
Congrats on making the jump over to those who have. I did it last April and don’t regret it for a second .

I had a streak of 202 days on DCA 756 reserve without flying a UAL airplane. (1 Oct through late April). I know I’m an anomaly... I bid reserve by choice during the school year. I’m about 50% in BES.
I perform military duty on days off. I usually schedule a mil day on my first day off after a reserve block (so I don’t get rolled) and on my last day off prior to a reserve block.
Yes, WB (or global reserve) is much different. However, word is tht DCA 756 block hours will not have the same dramatic decrease as they did last year.
