777/787 fo...

Looking to chat via PM with a few folks who are relatively junior on the SFO 777/787 and the ORD 777.

I'm a relatively new hire (Oct 2016) who is eyeballing the WB move in a about a year from now after the 2019 summer flying.

A year from now in ORD?

Possibly. Just want to get more info and another perspective from those other than SFO.
I understand ORD is senior.

Ya Ord 777 is still overstaffed according to the min max the company publishes with every vacancy. It will probably take more then a year to get ORD 777 for a 2016 hire. The flying is very desirable and most guys I fly with are waiting for 756 captain bids before moving off the 777.

Or, tomorrow or later in the week when the next vacancy opens, they change their min-max opinion.

Yep......put your standing bid in and you may just get it sonnet than you think.

I’m more than a year senior to the OP and I can’t see myself getting the right seat of a WB in SFO anytime next year.

If past performance is any indication of future returns, I’ll upgrade on the 73 a couple years before I’d swing gear on the 777/787.

Been at United for over four years and I can’t get within 2000 numbers of SFO 777 or Sparkie. I even have junior pilots in both categories. Gonna be a while!!! Many of the pilots that took upgrade a couple of years ago on the Guppy or Fifi. They’re all going back to the wide bodies because the domestic system is so jacked up.

I’ll echo the same thoughts. Early 2015 hire and don’t plan to get a widebody slot in 2019. Way too many junior narrow body captains getting burned out “actually flying” that have or are ready to bid the WB FO seat.

I’m in the same line, I’m looking back for you, don’t see you...
Sorry bro, that’s a big negatory. 6 years+ for WB in ORD. Zero movement.
