I'm going with CLE :D But seriously, if the 787 base opens in DEN, can you say "displaced"! All the FOs will be back for landings every 90 days in a class administered by the very guys that caused them to lapse.

Don’t laugh but it wasn’t too long ago that we were flying to LGW and CDG from CLE. I enjoyed flying those trips.

Well good news for the new hires. The SFO sleep room is really going to clear out when the 787 Captains lateral over to Den.

Heard Walter Varney was considering putting in a bid once it’s officially open. He wanted to see what the pairings might look like and was asking about reserve but I have a feeling he will put his name in the hat.

The commentary from the hometown rag was all telling :D

The flight, in the works for several years, launches during a difficult period for U.S. airlines. At the same time skyrocketing fuel costs are increasing the cost of flying, the lousy economy is keeping both business and leisure travelers closer to home. And the plummeting value of the dollar against the euro makes traveling to Europe particularly expensive.

Yet Continental still expects the flight to succeed.

This is what we call growth flying. We have new aircraft arriving and they are being deployed.

This is what United calls growth flying... As Oscar put it last month, and many of us have felt “ since the merger we’ve cut 1200 flights and have added about 250, so we have a way to go”.
