I'm sorry, but I have to take Ihateyou's side on marriage.

Just look at the divorce rate. 60% or so last I checked, give or take.

60% odds of one's marriage failing. And for 2nd and 3rd marriages, its even grimmer with it being as high as 75%

And I haven't even mentioned the overwhelming odds that even regional CA's (let alone those at the majors) will earn significantly more than their spouse, tilting the tables against them to an even greater extent in divorce court.

If I had a burning desire to get married, I'd gravitate towards professional women in stable careers who make salaries on par with guys at the majors or more.

I do NOT want a woman I can "provide for", I want one who is an equal partner in crime with me.

YMMV

Reading a lot of this marriage talk with great amusement. Used to fly with the twice, thrice plus married guys all the time espousing how wife #1 was a c**t, wife #2 a bi**h and wife #3 a greedy mother******er, ect, ect.

By the end of such trips I'd easily figured out where the problem had lain with and it wasn't with the c**t, the bi**h or the greedy mother******er.

News Flash: We, as a group, aren't all Prince Charming's being wronged by hordes of scheming damsels in distress.

LOL!!! Lots of high estrogen boys on this board. A guy simply says marriage is expensive and all the lady boys come out of the wood work to attack and scream about how awesome and safe marriage is!!! Ok!!

No need to get married. Just have playmates! Kids are best for someone else.

Now whats the over/under on furlough notices in 2020.

Ah, so all marriage failures are the pilot's fault! Maybe, just maybe putting two people under the same roof day in and day out just doesn't work as well as your fairytale little mind would like! And the law is geared toward the women in the divorce. Just because a few guys here and there have a good marriage doesn't mean at all that it's for everyone. That's like saying in a room full of people only two don't have HIV so go dive in and have sex.

Not saying men aren't part of the problem in a bad marriage. I simply am saying marriage is expensive and divorce is even more expensive. Nothing more boys...nothing more. So all you guys who have had their balls chopped off and put in your wife's purse that are defending marriage, spare me....I'm simply talking about the cost. Not who's right or who's wrong in the courtship. Not getting married guarantees NO bank breaking divorce.

Thank you for your concern. I'll pass that along to her.

No matter what the economy does, the airlines HAVE TO retire 75% of their seniority lists over the next 10-15yrs I believe.... mandatory retirements won't change, so hiring will have to happen to fill seats. Worst case scenario is profit sharing will take a hit, whoever has it. Just my 2 cents...

I’m fascinated by your warped and twisted view of marriage. It’s probably not a stretch to assume you weren’t raised in a stable household if one at all?
