Take the plane you want.....you'll be able to bid over to the base you want within the year the way things are going. Just keep in mind that you'll sit reserve longer at the senior bases (ORD, IAH, DEN, etc).

Good to hear. Approximately how many are hired in a given week? Just curious if all of April will make it into the September class or not.

I spoke with Kari in pilot hiring. She said my 4-17 CJO was on the bubble for the Sept 17 class. I would not be confident that all April CJOs will make this class. I am sending them flowers and boxed chocolates and whiskey of the month memberships every day. Kidding!

Does anyone have visibility on whether or not there are currently any delays between BI and initial aircraft training?

Once you start BI your being paid so delays between BI and initial training are win ;) Avg for my class was about 2 weeks but there was a good amount of variability with some only a few days, some 1.5 months or so.

This.

There is no "gouge" as it will vary by class and equipment. The current plan is to hire as many pilots as can be trained so lots of effort will be spent filling every available sim period.

The specific time off a buddy had last month will have zero bearing on what happens next month. If a certain fleet starts getting backed up beyond reason they will simply throttle back new-hires on that fleet. And on the flip side if sim time opens up (either at TK or remote facility) they will pour students into it.

Good info, thanks.

Any intel from OBAP?

Meet and greets? Resume collection? Or just the mass presentation similar to NGPA?

Did she happen to mention when any other classes might be? I'm a 4/17 CJO as well.
Thanks

Thanks

I emailed Kari yesterday and she indicated no classes beyond Sept 17 had been confirmed and pilot hiring is still working the invitation list.

I think its a safe bet that starting October there will be two classes a month until next summer. Maybe only one for one of the months over holiday season.
