Read through the thread and just want to clarify, does your scope define aircraft by number of seats or also by weight? Essentially, they can’t replace a CRJ 200 with a 550, correct? They’d have to take a 700 out of service to put a 550 in?

I can see the validity of his comment. Time is relative. Yes, a matter of time, we'll give on scope about the time the transporter is invented.....

I was thinking more in line with global weather phenomenon, like when Hell freezes over!

The 50 seaters and 70/76 seaters are both limited in total number (using a formula) and by gross weight.

50-seat limit is 65,000lbs and the 70/76-seat limit is 86,000lbs.

So the 550 is simply an existing CRJ700 that is being re-certified with a lower seat capacity and a reduced gross weight to comply with the 50-seat 65,000 lbs limit in the United Pilot Agreement.

Any link to this interview or source? Not that I don't believe it, I'd just like to see/read it. He cannot possibly believe his own nonsense can he? It has to be posturing for wall street. Otherwise he just gave us some serious "locker room bulletin board" material.

I'd like to believe we have 12.5k+ strong willing to go to the matresses to prove him wrong. Bring it on.

Oh wow, so they can replace 145’s and 200’s with 550’s while maintaining all their current 70/76 seaters. That’s sneaky.

If SK is unable to get scope relief, what are the chances of a new pilot contract?

catIIIc 03-07-2019 07:38 AM

Slim to none. Now if delta and American get quick contracts before us with no scope relief then that plays well for us, but if those two carriers modify their scope relief for the worse then obsvisly that hurts us. It is a waiting game right now. We just got a raise right before the amendable date so most everyone is content so we will see how long this drags out.

I’ll wait!!

I'm not happy and it surprises me that most are happy.

I’m not sure “happy” is the right word. I would definitely prefer that this contract come to fruition sooner than later. However, not at the expense of giving even an inch of scope relief.
