I've been on the bus for 3 years, jumping between ORD and EWR. I have only done 3 redeyes, ever. I also don't bid to avoid them, I actually prefer ending a trip with them to get home early. Apparently, the senior people do too.

My line in March has zero red eyes and I bid avoid mid trip red eyes but not last day ones.

I shacked myself with a last day red eye due to my bidding buffoonery for March...

I’ve done one red eye in six month. LAS-IAH, which coming from the WB flying doesn’t even register on the give-o-sht meter.

How do you avoid mid trip red eyes while allowing last day red eyes? Ideally, i want to preference last day redeye's but ABSOLUTELY AVOID the embedded ones.

You guys are doing it all wrong: red eye on the first day is the correct answer.

Paid for the entire first day at home while hanging with the kids/dog/boat and you catch up on your sleep during the trip.

What’s the point of getting done at 6AM on day 4 when you’re a wreck all day at home?

BidNav option. Avoids downline release time before 7 Am and avoids duty time within trip between the ANF defined hours.

How that gets me to avoiding embedding red eyes but allowing last day ones, no clue. That’s why I pay for BidNav.

Hard to start a trip with a red eye in any base east of the Mississippi. But, it sounds nice though!
