Yawn,

These latest bids seem so underwhelming.

Yeah, yeah, some growth is better than none but for the amount of hoopla they keep putting out about hiring, you’d think these would be way more sizable.

Patience old grasshopper. It has been stated that a few small clean up bids were to take place before the big fall bid.

I think the old way of a extra large bid followed by a series of smaller bids proved to be costly. They weren't managing based on what they could actually train, so they ended up paying out Delayed Activation pay fairly regularly to the pilots they couldn't train.

Now, they are targeting vacancies based on a specific month's training capacity. By no means are they perfect at this, but at least a majority of the folks on the bid will go to training in the month they are targeted for. This is a way better situation for those that care when they are actually going to go to training, as compared to the previous technique.

115 CA bids may be a yawn, but if they keep coming for the next 6-8 months I don't think the 2015/16 hires will be yawning too much while they are in Capt school!!!

Even though the bid states possible training in September it probably won't happen until December or the new year. United's training center is maxed out and will get worse.

The answer is they could award a complete turnover, but the ability to train is what constrains.

This is not true. Much of this bid fills September training. Most of that transition training is not already filled per SSC.
