Default AV Days

Did a search, got some info I needed but not the answer to this one.
I lost a trip for legality reasons. AV days now. I looked at the contract, do I call after 1500 the day prior to get released from the AV days? Or is it after the first AV day?
Thanks

You are automatically released after 1500 the day prior to the AV days, no call needed.
BUT, if you want to pick something up over the AV days and not work "for free", you have to call scheduling and have them remove the AV days off your schedule.
It's explained the DYK document

Wouldn’t he/she be working for free most likely since the trip dropping would likely lower lpv below ptc. So any trip picked up would be free until lpv is brought back up to meet ptc?

I could be way off too.

Ah ha! This was the other answer I found doing a search. The answer is no! Think of a lost trip as soft time (PTC). I went to CC and acted like I was picking up a trip and sure enough PTC increased. You’re thinking when LPV is below MPG.

This doesn’t work like vacation does. If you get AV days for loss of a trip, the Crew Desk has until 15:00 the day prior to assign you something. If they do not, at 15:01 you should call and ask them to remove the “AV” from your schedule. After that, you are free to pick up extra pay including senior man trips. You will be paid accordingly.
