Default Vacancy 19-12 results

The bid results are out:

For those in pool, here are the unfilled assignments that can be used for new hire classes for the next 90 days.

SFO 320 FO - 52 unfilled
SFO 756 FO - 36 unfilled

LAX 320 FO - 8 unfilled

EWR 320 FO - 3 unfilled

Couple those with the unfilled vacancies from the previous bid (19-11) that are still valid for another 60 days.

GUM 737 FO - 4 unfilled

SFO 320 FO - 25 unfilled
SFO 737 FO - 63 unfilled
SFO 756 FO - 23 unfilled

Any prior unfilled vacancies have now expired, so for any class between now and the next vacancy bid, your choices will come from the above two lists.

Looks like SFO will remain the starting point for the vast majority of new hires. If you aren't interested in SFO, the good news is we have been told to expect a regular monthly cadence of vacancy bids, so you should have an opportunity to get a lateral bid out of SFO fairly quickly, and then when the new hires behind you are trained into SFO, you can actually get activated into that new assignment.

With the junior Captain at 11090(ish), it looks like we are seeing very close to 3 year upgrades into SFO.

Bottom Capt is a 15 hire. On property nearly 4 years. Likely over 4 by the time training/OE complete.

I was shocked at how many widebody FOs bid narrowbody CA. It really speaks to the huge disparity in quality of work life.

I dont follow, either. There were many 777 FOs that were below the G-line that bid NB Captain knowing they could hold a line...or at least be close. I bid off the bottom of the 777 at 95% and moved to 94% on the 320. The verdict on the QOL argument is still TBD. I work a
Heck of a lot more now on the Bus, but Im having a heck of a lot more fun. So far, I’m glad I made the move. After this latest bid, I will be pretty close to G-line by Xmas. I keep telling all the 777 FOs how horrible it is...at least the senior ones!
