As KonaJoe mentioned, Bo was system chief pilot for many years. I wouldn’t even use our current system chief pilot’s first name (Bebe) when referring to her because she hasn’t held the job long enough for her name to be recognized by most line pilots.

I know the name of exactly one domicile chief pilot and I suspect most other pilots are the same. Why would one waste brain cells memorizing the names of domicile chief pilots?

And FWIW, until I came back to narrowbody flying last year, I hadn’t been to EWR for several years.

Almost 2000 vacancies have been advertised this year. That number doesn’t include backfills.

Considering how junior CA, WB CA and WB FO are going and that training capacity is maxed out, I don’t know what more could be done.

They could open a good sized base in Chicago!:D

Use it more so that everyone knows who she is, because she's awesome and pilots need to know she's up there and who she is.

She hasn’t fired the SFO CP after how long on the job? Yeah, she must be totally awesome.

Why are folks thinking there was going to be a MOAB? Where did that rumor start?

During “charm school” less than a year ago PC stood up in front of us and said that in the fall of 2019 there would be a vacancy bid that should be larger than the previous year’s massive vacancy bid (fall of 2018). I would consider that a fairly reliable source. Maybe things have changed since then but I was there when he said it.

Read the first sentence of the crew resources update.

granted, long term planning meats every Wednesday..

but the most current information published states:
We are closing in on our summer 2020 staffing goals much more quickly than we were at this point last year, so do not expect a “mega-vacancy” next month.

You clearly don’t know her history, or how the current CPO wound up there (several choices before him turned it down). Maybe do some research first. I’d take her in my corner almost over anyone.

And three years ago at the three day LCA meeting “they” stood up and said that by 2019 we’d have 17000 pilots on staff and over 1000 mainline aircraft.

From an extremely reliable source. Just sayin’ things change.

Yep... as I eluded to in my post.

The question was posed regarding where the rumor may have started... I just provided a possible explanation.
