Vacancy 20-04V

Out today! 125 Capt seats! More 787 for ORD.

PC also said that no MOAB is expected for next month.

Should be a fair number of backfills as a lot of the min/max numbers are the same or close.

Why are folks thinking there was going to be a MOAB? Where did that rumor start?

The vacancy trend for the last year+ is to fill slots in the near term over 1-3 months. A MOAB would require training so far down the timeline that folks would get contractual protections costing the company $$$.

Yup, the company has spelled out (paraphrased) that bids are to match training capacity. So, think of it as a multi-year MOAB. With little chance of Christmas training, I’d expect this one to go more senior.

Y’all need to read the union comms, there isn’t going to be a MOAB. It’s been that way for over a year now.

60 WB Captain (125 total Captain open) and 70 WB FO with 300 FO openings total. There are going to be lots of unfilled on this bid for new hires. I’m guessing the 18 787/777s being delivered by May have something to do with this. Looks like the new hire program will be robust for some time.

My only question is what airline are we going to steal all the pilots from to staff United?

We’re acquiring 500 SWA pilots along with the 19 aircraft. They get DOH. ;)

That is exactly why pilots want a MOAB! They might be able to get the contractual protections that you alluded to.

A friend was in EWR for a townhall end of September early October......Fabian apparently said December MOAB.

That’s was the first I heard of it.......so because the company said expect the MOAB I thought we would have said MOAB.....
