This used to be almost 100% true. Now I’d say it’s down to 60/40. Not where it should be but better. Never appreciated the bunkie seat on a 4 man crew so much until I got on 787. I’d gladly trade no landing for not being locked in pit for 5-7 hours with a Lorenzo scab.

My son was called upon by his high school teacher to discuss the topic of "scabs." They were having a discussion on labor history and practices in the US. The teacher was very impressed my son was well versed in the subject. She said it was odd that he knew so much about the subject so she sent me an email.
I thanked her for her keen awareness that my kid was squared away. She wanted to know where he was coming from and why he had such strong feelings on the subject. I told her I had required my kid to read Flying the line 1 and 2.
I told her that most teachers only know what they read in text books and that often it's colored from a neutral or a management perspective. I shared with her ode to a scab and suggested she read that to her class.
Anyways my son is taking flight lessons and before he took his first flight lesson I explained scabbing to him. He was curious to know why people would cross a picket line if they knew they would be labeled a scab for their entire professional career and their entire lives. He didn't understand why people would do that. I said "son some things just don't deserve that much thought."
