Says right in the article that they’re being sourced from another Express carrier. United is removing all 25 175s from the ExpressJet fleet (to SkyWest) as Trans States winds down their operation and transfers their 145s to ExpressJet.

This seems to be in line with what Kirby has been saying about our Express network(dwindling the high number of carriers down to a handful that are more reliable and controllable). I see a merger of Commutair and ExpressJet at some point and continued phase out of Republic bringing our number of UE carriers to around 4 before settling in at two or three longer term (one owned and one or possibly two independent). I kinda threw up in my mouth a little hearing that SkyWest was the beneficiary of XJT’s 25 ERJ-175s. XJT did a great job bringing this fleet online. I hope the best for the pilots of both Trans States and ExpressJet.

It's still a net gain in airframes for XJT. It'll be interesting to see how they staff it, unless the probable scenario of brining pilots over from TSA in some kind of "soft landings" scheme like SKW had/has, etc. |
If you read each company's announcement it sounds like scope has been settled. No new SNB is my guess because their retrofitting the 145's with new cabins, entertainment etc...consolidating all 175 flying and so forth.

Yup. Buddies who have talked to the p2p guys lately say the word is that scope is basically settled. Consolidate the 76 seat flying into one company (and maybe another for the 50 seat flying) , feed it from the Aviate program, and have flow-up/flow-down. 76 limits tied to NSNB gone, replaced with 76 seaters in a ratio to mainline narrowbodies and WB scope protections. This sounds like putting the pieces in place for that. Disappointed to say the least. I definitely feel for the XJT and TSA guys who are getting the shaft while the shells are being moved around.
