UEX planning to grow the 50 seat market. What is the future after this reshuffle of aircraft?

Fly the refurbished 145s for another “x” years and then park them as they time out.

Nobody is making new 50 seat jets.

The future seems pretty obvious, no? The only variable is the value of x.

You can still buy a 145 new off the line.

x is a lot higher than most people think - my guess? At least 15 years.

There is a lot of stuff that can be done to extend the life of current 200 and 145 even beyond that.

And people may just go for it.

Well refurbish them and after they time out go find less old ones to replace them and you should get to 15 years.

Not really. They do still make the legacy which is a very similar plane, but they have not made the 145 for years.

Though I would suspect if United (or anyone really) were to approach Embraer with a big order of 200 planes, Embraer could probably retool things and make it happen for the right price.

The right price for Embraer will most likely be the wrong price for any potential customer. I’m looking forward to that POS dying on the vine. They’re racking up hours and cycles, plus our passengers don’t like them. It’s only a matter of time, how much time is anyone’s guess.
