Here we go........

prediction:

ORD 777 closed - was scheduled to close anyway.
IAH 777 closed - all routes can be served with a 787 our new ones have to go somewhere......
DEN 787 Closed - the INTL out of DEN will be the last routes to come back the big hubs need to fly first and we can’t afford to spread out the flying.
CLE737 closed - No better time than now......
SFO 756 Closed
LAX 756 Closed
IAH 756 closed - all INTL routes will be better served with a 787.

Going to be ugly.....just rip the bandaid off quick.

ya think

It’s going to make the furlough plans much less complicated and costly, with one less fleet type. This has been tentatively planned since around the time of the first “town hall”.

Well,,,,,

All 756 bases will probably be in the list...

those are all very small categories. And if you read what I wrote IAH 787 would grow a lot. You can go away now your wet dream of massive furloughs in that 5000-6000 range is not going to happen.

Notice of Proposed Decision Making

I forgot how soon after a NPDM came out, that the first actual message followed that detailed what and when things would happen. Anyone remember from the past ones? Days, weeks? Since it was just delivered to ALPA tonight, i though ALPA had a few days to digest and answer back before company made an official announcement of action?

the last couple that came out were the opening of the DEN 787 base and the closing of ORD 777. If I remember right within the next couple days there was a crew resource update.

this will inevitably be larger and more complicated so it may take longer......my guess is that this notice to the pilots is a formality. My bet is the SSC and crew resources already know how this is going to go down and already have an agreement in place.

Took a gander at the international cuts we've already announced for the entire summer of 2020. Most of those cuts affected the 756 fleet out of EWR, some at IAD/IAH as well. Flying that is probably not going to come back before next summer. Hope the NPDM just reflects this modest initial shrinkage.
