Just a TLAR adjustment to the under subscribed categories. Still good news but won’t prevent round 2 for the over subscribed categories.

One thing is always true in displacements, pilots never do what the company hopes for. This is a great example and a first in my over 23 years where they adjusted the displacement. Of course, we’ve never seen a D bid of this size!

Hope it benefits whoever is not getting displaced now!

Concur with all of that. I don't remember them giving us a 'peek behind the curtain' like this before. He pretty much lays out where they want us to bid. They've always been close hold with that...probably because we'd do the opposite out of spite lol.

The new ESRLs seem to be a good deal as well... especially for someone on a job search. This is the kind of ALPA-UAL collaboration i like to see. I'm used to crisis, silence, request for concessions, repeat.

The real key takeaway is that they lay out the headcount in our three international fleets. I looked back at the projected manning for June with the current plan and it comes to a reduction of 2265 pilots in those fleets.

The ESRL adjustment is definitely beneficial for those that feel they are in that group.

I want to stress to anyone seeking other employment to PLEASE CALL THE MEC OFFICE DIRECTLY before you submit a resignation of seniority. They will put you in touch with the legal team!

A cut of 2265 to the “International Fleets” represents approximately a 42% reduction in “widebody” pilots. The projected pilot count on the narrow body fleet for June pre-Covid was 6348. It would be nice to see their projection for pilot head count for these fleets in the fall...

We’re so far from October that these projections don’t really mean very much. It’s kind of like trying to forecast the weather accurately 2 weeks out.

But this is the template that they are using for a base case scenario...hence the displacements....

I get that, but they’re just positioning themselves to be able to adapt to a reduced market of some level. If we are in fact 30% smaller, this bid will be a good measure. If things improve they cancel some displacements, if they are worse they already have a good head start to issue another displacement and cut as deep as they need to. People aren’t going to buy tickets when everything is still in lockdown. Right now the plan is just a guess and we won’t have any real data for a couple of months when the lockdown orders are rescinded and people start to venture out.
