Most Challenging Visual Approach?

Just curious to see what the masses consider their most challenging visual approach in the domestic system? I had a friend say that the river visual was the most challenging. Although it’s fun, I wouldn’t consider it necessarily challenging. Post away!

Can’t think of any that are particularly challenging. River in DC has the great views, you have to actual manage the plane by hand, and the added adrenaline of 56. The rival to that is the harbor visual at PWM. Around the light house, find the right island, thread the needle, up the channel into the harbor, decent hard right to wings level below 1000 feet to land.

The expressway visual 31 to LGA is tough to pick it out at night if you haven’t done it before.

Now we have RNAV that does it all.

My favorite is when they ask you if you have the Verrazano bridge is sight and tell you to fly up the Hudson. Great views.

LGA Expressway 31 has been known to cause folks some trouble at times.

DCA River Visual 19 is not particularly "challenging", departing 1 and making the left turn up the Potomac to avoid P56A/B is arguably harder based on violation statistics.

Departing 1 spooks a lot of folks. It really isn’t a big deal at all, but so many get worked up about it. The problem I see most often is they’re so amped up to not bust P56 that they make the left turn the second the wheels are off the ground. Totally unneeded. If you’re routinely buzzing the tower and passing south of the Pentagon you need to calm it down. Unless there’s an insane wind out of the west a regular turnout will give you plenty of room.

TEX, SUN, ASE, 36U, DTS, LOM, AGO, COD. (wait, just UAL, or is 91K allowed?)

ILS15R, visual circle to Runway 4L...not sure if it’s even legal per most op specs now, break off of 15R to the right, follow the river, keep the Tobin bridge on your right, head straight for Faneuil Hall, before you hit anything, hard left turn inside the harbor, when you see your first runway keep turning, that’s runway 9, just before the flare 4L should appear, flare...lol

I miss doing those.

expressway visual 31 LGA is a pain IMO. River visual in DC and the harbor visual in PWM are both awesome.
