I would gladly give up all of my non-rev passes for all of my family members, in exchange for a significantly better discounted ticket than what we currently get.

Why wouldn't you just buy the cheapest ticket and "standby" for the flight you really want?

In light of current events I’d actually welcome it.

I disagree. I find it way worse when an FAA must ride snags the one jumpseat on a guppy at the last minute and then dominos the remaining seats in the back. Passengers pay our salaries.

Sorry, don’t understand what you mean. I know that in many, many years of commuting I have never been bumped out of the jump by a fed.

The no change fee is only half the story. Passengers are not going to buy a bunch of cheap tickets and jump from flight to flight.
No change fee is just that, no fee to change flights. Any change in the fare at the time of the change still apply and most likely be prohibitively expensive. As far as non revving, it goes both ways. If passenger feels they don't have to show up for a flight because of no change fee, the PBT's will be too high. I think it's a wash. |
Didn’t want to start a new thread, I had a nonrev question.
Got a load through StaffTraveller. It shows over 100. Are these inclusive of Covid loads, or are some of these seats restricted? I don’t know if United is doing the whole blockage of middle seats? I know Spirit isn’t and they’ll get all nonrevs on to a full flight. Just curious how you guys are doing it. Thanks! |
Seats are not restricted nor are center seats blocked.
United sends out txt if flight gets above a certain load factor that people uncomfortable with fuller flight can switch with no change fee. less than 2% change there travel plans If there are seats, you should be fine. Good luck |
Thank you much!
