They blame the Union because, deep down, they Don’t believe in the democratic process. They find conspiracies when things are not to their liking.
They also forget that the association is the only reason that their pay/work rules are what they are and that the Union organization has a responsibility to represent all members. Protecting jobs is their responsibility.
These people want to take all the good things without giving up anything when the time comes. They are not Unionists, they are selfish individualists.

I say we start a grass roots campaign to put Garry and John at the head of the MEC. They will save us all. Who’s with me? How about all you young whippersnappers that didn’t hit the street yesterday? How bout you guys that have had to fly with GK it JB in the past? Come on everyone ... let’s do it!

now back to serious stuff ... drinking

Why shouldn't they keep theirs intact? Unless you're advocating for them to work less hours. Seems to me they're working more now, and I feel they should be compensated appropriately for it. Working through the "pre loaded absences" portion of the LOA has convinced me they need a raise... Complicated stuff.

No, it’s not complicated. They are not hourly workers but on a salary. When our MPG was cut, the value of our job was cut. As our goes our so goes theirs. Plus, you can do away with that $2000/mo stipend since they mostly work from home. Funny how they avoided giving up that Lil nugget. While we’re at it, their expenses from last year were utterly piggish and way way above their peers at Delta.

If the UAL MEC threatens to work less because they are paid less then by all means. I guess that just means they really aren’t there to work on behalf of the pilots. They volunteered for the job, they can volunteer back to the line. Steak and cake my .....

Complete nonsense indeed. Not happy about your reps, vote them out. Not happy with the UAL ALPA bylaws, petition to change, if they dont, vote them out. There is a process. Change.org is ridiculous

The irony is that kravit is a former MEC vice chair.

This has everything to do with them wanting to regain control of the MEC. And frankly, they didn't do that great of a job when that group was in charge. I don't know why any sane pilot would want these people in charge of the union. They are a human train wreck.

we can argue philosophically about whether or not the paid members of our union should receive full compensation, given the crazy amount of work on their plate right now.

but to argue that they should take a pay cut seems like you were yelling into an empty room… Haven’t they publicly stated they plan on doing just that?

Don't let this latest 'injustice' fool you. These clowns are just a bunch of mudslingers. There is less truth in most of their complaints than you'd find in a The Onion article. It's all about making the current leadership look bad so when they run for those positions, some will believe the lies and maybe they can win a few seats. Lord help us if they do.

Less truth? Just shaking my head.
