Red flags for what? There’s plenty of pilots lined up to come to UA.

Anyone here used RST for United prep? Or Career takeoff? Which do you prefer and why?

Tech prep for United wouldn’t be very useful, but would serve very well at Delta & FedEx… so for us specifically, neither.

No, but I signed up for Emerald Coast and I highly recommend their interview prep.

I was invited to interview at United Airlines for the position of First Officer. I was told the interview would be conducted using the STAR format. I prepared by reviewing the STAR format and complied by answering the questions they asked in the requested format as required. I now work for United Airlines and in my spare time, I read forums where people debate on whether or not to prepare for a task.

Hey, I googled AVIATE prep programs, and seems like a lot of "free filler." Do you know of a decent program that I could pay for quality prep?

Aviate is a separate entry program, so depending on where you are at in your career, it may not be appropriate for you. That being said, the Aviate interview is the same as the traditional path with a few tweaks given for different age/experience levels of each candidate. So if Aviate is the entry you will be targeting, I think any of the established and aforementioned prep services will work just fine for Aviate.

Im currently training at Mesa. Trying to figure out which prep would give me the best chance.

Are you referring to interviewing for Aviate or for a United interview in general?

For the in general part, any of the companies that have been mentioned earlier have a resulted in successful interviews. Saying one is better than the other is difficult unless you’ve done more than 1.

Any tips for the leadership assessment test? Is there anyway to prepare? Also is RST’s prep good?

If I' not mistaken, the "Leadership Assessment" is the new name for the Hogan? If so, do a search in this section for "Hogan" or "HPI"

The advice is all over the place.

Some big picture stuff, try to be relaxed, and take it alone. IOW, don't have your SO/wife/husband/whatever over you shoulder. And when you read the question, add "when at work" to it before answering.

Random Task 10-15-2021 02:02 PM

Leadership Assesment is the new name for the hogan. Can't prep for it. Don't try to trick the computer, just answer honestly. NO DISTRACTIONS when you take it.

RST’s prep is very good for companies with technical skills assessments. United doesn’t test that.

Just Tarver, in my opinion, the only name you need to know when looking for Interview Prep Services.

Does getting the assessment invite mean they have already looked through your qualifications and weeded people out? I got the assessment invite but people are saying they won’t interview without a college degree, which I don’t have…just don’t wanna be surprised if I don’t get an actual interview invite.

I know a guy who interviewed a few weeks ago without a degree. He was not given a CJO, but I don't know if the degree was the deciding factor or if there were other reasons.

They see all your qualifications on the application before sending you the test. So they already know your background before you get there.

A friend of mine interviewed recently and got the TBNT, which surprised me since he’s a good guy with pretty good qualifications. It seems the vast majority of people pass the interview, so that tells me it’s your job to lose.

Still not a guarantee that you’ll get the job once you interview.

How long is it generally taking after the Hogan to hear back?

I took mine on a Friday and heard back by the end of the day on Monday.

It was the same time frame for me. I actually took it this past Friday and just got the email saying I passed this morning. No actual invite to schedule an interview yet. But they said there would be a little bit of a delay for that.

For those that have interviewed, when did you get your study packet for the technical portion of the interview? I have a Nov 10th interview and haven't received it yet. All the ride reports I've read refers to one being sent out prior to the interview.

Check your interview confirmation email. I have an interview scheduled close to yours and I’ve had the welcome packet and technical skills guide for almost two months now.

You should have received it the moment your interview was scheduled. There were 2 links on the scheduling site when you received your confirmation. Try and find es confirmation email for your interview and click on the links. That should do the trick.

I believe it was in the same email or another automated email that came as soon as I scheduled the interview. Double check the bodies of the emails. They were links buried in the email. If you can’t find it send me a private message.

I’m pretty sure there was a link to download the packet in my interview email. Not where I can check right now.

When you schedule the interview, you immediately get a confirmation email for the interview. In that email, there's 2 links for "welcome packet" and "Technical Skills Guide." Click the link and it will download the pdf.

Quick question regarding college transcripts in the interview packet of paperwork. Have you all been sending UA official transcripts, or sending unofficial copies you'd find on the student college account? The letter says "copies are acceptable" but just curious what people are sending transcript wise. Thanks

Thewrongstufff 10-29-2021 10:13 AM

You get them your self. It is ok to open them ad redact your DOB as instructed. They do not have to be sealed

This info is dated, but I don’t think any employer is ever looking for “unofficial” transcripts, however a copy was fine of the official one. I just requested them online for the ones I didn’t have readily available.

Hopefully that means Thanksgiving and not Christmas….

Yes it is. But why not just say “no more this year”.or we’ll pick up again next year” if that’s the case?

Transcripts and college screw ups

Hello,

I don't have a degree from a 4-year university but have attended 4-year universities before which I have disclosed on my airlineapps. I did not know however that my GPA on my transcript (2015 date of last attendance) was a 2.0 as opposed to what I thought was a 3.0 (classes I had withdrawn from weren't accurately noted) I already have an interview scheduled and updated my GPA on airlineapps to reflect this. By the time of my interview, however, I will have completed my associate's degree with a 4.0 GPA. How do I disclose this to United? I know I should have verified my GPA more closely before putting it on my app but I feel by adding my associate's degree the changed GPA will not be a big deal. I just want to make sure I am being upfront and honest through this whole process. Thanks!
