CQDL

Why is there a significant module on the C19 vaccine in our recurrent? If I wanted, needed, or felt interested in learning about that, I would seek medical advice from my actual physician. It's not the airlines place to give medical advice. This was a big over-reach.

I found that less perplexing than the winter ops module for a CQDL cycle that ends in August.

I agree. I am glad all my questions were answered about if it is appropriate or inappropriate at the office for Roy to ask Steve out.

Gooselives 05-13-2021 04:57 PM

It was a long session. Does that mean 2 hours of pay? It should be!

Company mandated about two or three months ago that all employees were required to watch the C19 video. Pilots were given the option to complete it back then......or have it included within the next CQDL cycle. Your post tells me which option you chose....:D

Hedley 05-13-2021 05:53 PM

All of the HR type stuff is just something to scroll through on mute while watching tv on a layover. It beats the heck out of having to actually attend a class and listen to someone lecture a bunch of people that don’t want to be there.

fadec 05-13-2021 05:56 PM

Because it's important for us to know about the communal dangers of racist vaccine evasion.

Does someone need a physiological evaluation?

Well most pilots wait until the last month to complete CQDL. So they need to put it in B so the pilots actually see what’s new in winter ops before December 20th……you may think I’m being funny but it’s the truth.

Oletimer 05-16-2021 04:40 AM

The company mandated a Covid 19 video? That's nuts right there. It doesn't matter where you put that. It's crazy to watch.

I also noticed there were no actual physicians presenting the material. it was all generic in nature.

It would be cool if we could all get individual immune response tests, that way we would know how healthy our immune system is, and be more knowledgeable about our actual - individual risk factors.

The silly video presented no information that was useful whatsoever.

Airhoss 05-16-2021 11:01 AM

So...

I’m fully vaccinated, that vaccination is documented with UAL on the my info page. Why are they wasting my time with this module?

Sane question for last quarter with their two hour block on not accepting sexual favors in lieu of money for political purposes.

The CQDL left out the FDA approval part....

Exactly. I ask the guys I fly with if the FAA approved an emergency experimental airplane for airline passenger transport would you fly it. Or would you put your family on that airplane. I usually just get a blank stare or a "yeh but..." response.

hand iPad to your kid, tell him or her to scroll through the module, problem solved. If they’re strong negotiators, They’ll work you for a few bucks, but we’ll worth it.

I don’t practice or condone child abuse. These HR CQDL modules are torture, plain and simple. ;)

Am I putting my family on it to escape a... Deadly global pandemic?

kids are grown now. That won't do. Maybe get the grand kids involved. I used to tell my wife to hit the "next" button every time she passed my laptop. I told her I'd give her a little extra loving if she kept hitting that next prompt.

On a positive note....i just learned a very quick way to get it done while watching Netflicks. At least on Netflicks, I can watch an educational show. You need two laptops or a laptop and an internet capable TV for best results.

I ask the FAA inspectors I know if they take non federally approved treatments....They all say no. The FAA isn't making them take it, and not doing any CQDL lessons on it. As a matter of fact, no federal employees being forced to take it. The entire "experimental" issue is evidently a big deal. The drug manufacturers receive waivers of liability. Once it gets FDA approved, those experimental status waivers evaporate.

Ironically my name is Steve and I recently flew with a captain named Roy. On a layover he asked me if he could buy me a beer. I thought it was inappropriate and told him so. But only because of the video. Otherwise I thought it was fine. And I like free beer.

Yet many pilots have no problem strapping themselves into "experimental " aircraft.

There are also those who complain about the vaccine potentially being harmful to their health, yet they are obese, eat a garbage diet, don’t exercise, smoke, drink.........

The same could be said about those who take an experimental vaccine

I don't know. How many? How many of those wear parachutes?

I hear when the J and J vaccine got pulled, citizens in africa went to the Dr and asked for their blood to be pulled, and the vaccine to be removed from their blood.

You are making a correlation between people voluntarily flying an experimental airplane and people being pressured to take an experimental drug. I guess you could always bail out of that experimental airplane. How you gonna bail out of an experimental drug.

I'd say that was check mate.

No it very much could not. The “experimental” vaccine still had to demonstrate safety through an established scientific process. (Its EUA status comes from the fact that its approval is based on 3 months of conclusive data rather than the 6 required for full FDA approval.) The science on obesity, lack of exercise, and generally treating your body like a garbage can is well established, and clearly proves that it is detrimental to your long-term health. They are nowhere near the same thing.

Threw you off with “experimental” -seems like you are spring-loaded to defend the vaccine.
I was simply saying that those who take the vaccine to keep themselves safe are also obese, don’t exercise, and treat their bodies like trash cans -which is most likely more dangerous than the virus.

I could gladly explain my contention with the way people use the “experimental” label. Honest question, though- once a vaccine gets full FDA approval, will you accept that it is safe?

fadec 05-21-2021 03:19 AM

I don't care what people eat, what aircraft they fly, or what vaccine they take. I just don't want a vaccine, experimental or not, FDA approved or not, pressured on me through sanctions and ostracism. If you want it, take it. Leave me out of your fear fantasy.

I swear Webster’s is gonna have to add multiple pages to account for all the stupid terms/words that are new to the vernacular, courtesy of the woke mob. Some of the dumbest sounding crap being spouted by people who think they’re smart.

I have a new term for Webster. “Fauci”- 1) A large dump. As in, “I have to take a massive Fauci”. 2) All screwed up. As in, “This thread is all Fauci’d up”.
