Default QRO / BJX Gouge

Heading there a lot coming up. Any gouge for QRO or BJX? I notice only VOR into QRO. Are the approaches fairly straightforward? Are the hotels in safe areas? Any other intel is much appreciated.

Not a United guy but flew there a ton. They use the VOR approaches with the arc. Slow down early. You'll get lasered at night all the time. And the typical Mexico 250/10000AGL instead of MSL.

Everything you need to know is in the WOM, 10-1 and 10-7 pages.

Not a UAL guy… yet but QRO is a great overnight. The downtown area is safe and fun. Good restaurants (go to Chucho Roto and get the chammoro (phonetic spelling) you won’t regret it), some cool architecture, and a nice town square feeling with buskers and such. The airport is far from the town (45 mins) which can be a drag.

The approaches are procedural control (no radar) so anticipate the full procedure but there’s no secret sauce.
