If I recall correctly, if you have a vdo at the end of a block of rsv days they can fly into a vdo day without the same protections of flying you into a day off on rsv. It essentially turns into another fdo, I believe you get the 50% add pay only for the one vdo they fly you into.

Concur - I only do VDO on the last day off going into reserve days. Doing it on your first day off isn't really worth it.

Is that a good or bad thing?

depends, do you want more opportunity to make $350/hr, or less opportunity to make $350/hr?

5500!!?? Last month when a buddy of mine over there at United showed me his matrix chart it was approx 3500 & 3300 for junior EWR 777 & 787 CA. It was approx 3750 & 2850 for junior SFO 777 & 787 CA. Has it really gone 2000 more numbers junior in a month!? If so, bravo to you guys! :) What base & plane is around 5500 in the matrix now?

777 in EWR and SFO are both at the 5500 level for captain. The 787 isn’t far behind it’s at the 5000 ish level. One thing to keep in mind however is that a CCS number of 5500 is an actual seniority number of about 4500. The CCS numbers are still reflecting approximately 1,000 early retirements who are no longer on the line, they will remain on the list until they go off the payroll.

Wow! That’s still amazing! Thanks for explaining that. What’s the junior DCA 777 & 787 CA matrix number looking like now?
