you are incorrect. Don’t use “we” as a generalization of the norm. Just because most pilots are introverts and left brained doesn’t mean there aren’t some pilots that are comfortable sharing their profession on social media because they happen to be more artistic/creative than the rest. You and many others may feel uncomfortable doing it yourself because you probably had to study the STAR format for every interview you ever had. It’s unfair to jump on someone having a positive impact on others on social media because you have some deeply rooted conservative opinion of what an airline pilot is or how one should be portrayed. If you don’t like the guy, don’t follow him, but hiding behind an online forum talking smack about the guy makes all of you that do seem pretty small.

If you think this is “artistic” and “creative” you need some major help.

Anyone that thinks they’re a CA because they are better than the rest… isn’t. One of the worst captains I ever flew with commuted across the country to hold it because his ego required that fourth stripe.

Well, when you look up to someone on instagram it’s easy to see why he also thinks he’s a legend…

the fact you wrote this, with ZERO sense of irony…..considering that’s what the whole thread is about…….

and I don’t have a Reddit account….nor have I posted a single thing on Reddit…ever.

Well there is someone with the Exact screen name on Reddit and they sound Just like you. But like I said, even your posts on here are 90% you bashing someone. You don't have to build the tallest skyscraper in town, if you just tear all the others down. LOL.

Does that mean you’re stalking people on Reddit?

Yes, he was.

In fact, after the accident, KLM was looking for him to help with the investigation. Unfortunately, he wasn't available.

Yes the company reached out to him before realizing he was on the plane, but I never heard anything negative about his previous actions or his career.

I guess you decided to read previous posts selectively and ignore the inconvenient ones. Here's why people care (among other things):

Most of us will never know him in the way that you do. We will only know the online persona that HE CHOOSES to create. We only know the way HE CHOOSES to represent our profession. If the garbage on his social media is not who he really is, that is 100% his doing.

He chose this and we as peers and professionals are absolutely entitled to our opinions on the matter. Nobody made him put that crap out there. He looks like an idiot and it is an embarrassment for all of us.

That sir, is the "weak, weak, schitt."

Whether he is being paid by them or is just getting perks and privileges, it is extra-contractual work that is based on his PILOT position. That's a non-starter for actual union members.

What happens down the road if anyone ever gets a spine about contract negotiations? Will he be posting videos "on behalf of the pilots" (and actually on the orders of the company) apologizing for job actions?

The conflicts of interest here are obvious and totally avoidable.

His newest post is inside info on aircraft crew rest accommodations. Maybe next week he can show everyone how the cockpit door operates. Security anyone?

It's probably time for ALPA to update professional ethics for the times. Maybe professional standards should have a word with him about his activity - and his haircut for that matter.

Because as pilots we are all expected to be held to the same standard. We are all supposed to look and behave within strict professional guidelines set by our union and company.

When pilots are allowed to publicly violate standards and their behavior is not corrected it makes us lose faith in our union and corporate leadership. Instead of having the same rules for all, rules are there for most…but favoritism exists which causes us to doubt our future.

The more I learn about my company, my union and my pilot group the less involved I wish to be. It is because, through observation…those that have double standards have no standards.

The emperor truly has no clothes.

We observe misbehavior and dysfunction everyday, but we learn to turn our heads…because often those in leadership positions are there not because of merit, but favoritism and manipulation. Things progressively get worse over time, mishaps that are avoidable propagate and get worse.

But this is the culture of the industry. So, no…we don’t care. But we are all frustrated because of the dysfunction, toxicity and favoritism that exists. We all want the very best for our passengers and our coworkers, but under current conditions and culture the very best isn’t even a fantasy.

I think the bigger threat and the easier move by the company would be to hunt down guys in this thread and fire them for cyber bullying. Leave the poor dude alone. Posting his real name on here is a total foul and you guys know better. If you don't like his IG... don't look at it. Pretty simple. Now, Go put on your white new balance sneakers and cargo shorts and go to the swap meet.

Wow, just wow. What has happened here? I'd love to walk a picket line next to you - but you'd never walk one.

Your post is literally a summary of the times and it's not pretty. Failing to set and maintain standards and expectations is the biggest cultural problem we currently have. Doing so is not bullying.

I'll bet your Hogan results made HR giddy. "Rates as a company guy. Won't make waves. No threat to anyone. Will tolerate anything"

Cyber bullying!!!! You have got to be joking. No one has said anything to the IG hero - it's a COMMENTARY on the behavior

Might as well post his address and say, "well I didn't say who!". in the end, it's just keyboard bullying. It's beneath us and the profession we are in. Read through most of your 1.5 posts per day since joining and 90% are you bashing someone else. You must be a very sad, sad little man. Guessing divorced several times or never married, your kids hate you and you spend your layovers and time off at a bar alone hoping to find someone to talk politics with so you can share your "World Views" with. Classy man, really classy. Saw your reditt threads too much of the same. Remember Small minds discuss other people, good minds discuss events and great minds discuss ideas.

Seems like you should be fired for having a low IQ.

Buddy… “Kirill the Thrill” is in reference to Kirill Kaprizov, I’m a Minnesota Wild fan.

You just put some random Instagram guy on blast, which is sort of ironic lol.
