I think alpa and the company are watching because all these personalities are toeing a very fine line and at one end of the equation is a multi-million dollar career. I don't want to see someone ruin that for lack of mentoring. I don't think what he is doing is smart or professional.

Wasn’t the KLM PIC in the Tenerife accident their Chief Pilot who was featured in advertisements?

This is kind of how the industry rolls…it seems to celebrate dangerous people.

You sound like a teenager with your lack of capitalization or punctuation.

Then he was in the perfect company of ANOTHER adolescent-minded individual….and acted accordingly.

Confirmation of the scrubbing of his 'gram to give the appearance of 100% love and affirmation was absolutely germane to the discussion.

I’m 100% serious.
I won’t name the hotel/location for security reasons. But I’m not joking.

Did he yep you he’s a pilot for United?

Whether he is being paid by them or is just getting perks and privileges, it is extra-contractual work that is based on his PILOT position. That's a non-starter for actual union members.

What happens down the road if anyone ever gets a spine about contract negotiations? Will he be posting videos "on behalf of the pilots" (and actually on the orders of the company) apologizing for job actions?

The conflicts of interest here are obvious and totally avoidable.

His newest post is inside info on aircraft crew rest accommodations. Maybe next week he can show everyone how the cockpit door operates. Security anyone?

It's probably time for ALPA to update professional ethics for the times. Maybe professional standards should have a word with him about his activity - and his haircut for that matter.

Typical UA thread. Say anything about the union or company and suddenly tumbleweeds and silence. Kirby and Insler really made the group completely conflict averse.

Yes, he was.

In fact, after the accident, KLM was looking for him to help with the investigation. Unfortunately, he wasn't available.

Interesting that guys in this thread think he should be fired for his instagram posts. I think the bigger threat and the easier move by the company would be to hunt down guys in this thread and fire them for cyber bullying. Leave the poor dude alone. Posting his real name on here is a total foul and you guys know better. If you don't like his IG... don't look at it. Pretty simple. Now, Go put on your white new balance sneakers and cargo shorts and go to the swap meet.

How do these guys differ from Timmy Martins? Tell me it’s not blatant self-promotion while being co-opted as the company’s marketing shill. That’s not bitter, those are just facts.

Is this guy on a Flight Operations Special Assignment as a media representative? If so, that should be transparent. Either way, the ALPA code of ethics addresses this:

An Air Line Pilot shall refrain from any action whereby, for their personal benefit or gain, they take advantage of the confidence reposed in them by their fellow members.

They will conduct all their affairs in a manner which reflects credit on themselves and their profession.

His IG has his real name on it. Try again.
